VFX & Cleanup in United Kingdom
Blackbyrds Digital does commercial VFX and cleanup for UK agencies, production companies, and brands from Silang, Cavite in the Philippines: paint-out of logos, signs, and boom mics, tracked screen replacement, green screen, sky swaps, 3D product shots, and motion graphics. AI does the first pass; a compositor finishes every frame. Each shot is graded and priced in USD from the published list before work starts, from $150 for a simple shot, and footage of identifiable people is handled under a data processing agreement.
Why here
Why this works for United Kingdom.
For a UK agency or production company, the shots that need fixing tend to surface in the edit, after the crew has gone and with the delivery date already promised: a rig in the corner of the frame, a shop sign on location that was never meant to be in the ad, a laptop screen that needs the client’s product on it, a grey sky behind a summer campaign. Philippine time is seven hours ahead of BST and eight ahead of GMT, so plates sent at the end of the UK afternoon are waiting when our compositor starts, the work runs through your night, and the last hours of our day overlap your morning for frame-accurate notes on the watermarked render. Every shot is graded simple, medium, or complex before anyone opens it, so the fix can go into a change order with a number attached.
Billing is in US dollars from the published list, which can look odd next to our software projects for UK companies, which are quoted in sterling. The difference is that VFX is priced per shot against a fixed list rather than scoped per project: the list is the same for every international client, invoices are in USD, and payment is by Wise or PayPal, converted from sterling on your side. Agencies that resell the work can run a VFX Desk, a block of shot credits from $1,590 / mo, delivered unbranded under the agency’s name.
Two UK-specific lines are worth drawing before the footage arrives. If a shot shows people who can be identified, the plates are personal data under UK GDPR: we act as your processor, sign a data processing agreement on request, and delete working files after a fixed window once the project closes. Face replacement, de-aging, and voice changes happen only with written consent from the person on screen.
How the work runs.
A grade and a price before any work
A shot runs up to about 8 seconds. Simple shots, such as a sign or boom removed from a stable frame, are $150; medium shots, such as a tracked screen replacement or a green screen key with hair, are $480; complex shots are quoted from $1,200 after we have watched the footage.
Review in your morning
The end of our working day overlaps the start of yours, so notes left on a render during your morning are acted on in our next working day, inside the turnaround each tier lists. You are never waiting on a reply that has to cross a whole working day.
Processor duties, in writing
Plates with identifiable people in them are handled under a data processing agreement: shared by link, used only for the shot, and deleted after a fixed window once the project closes.
A desk for UK agencies
The VFX Desk gives an agency a block of shot credits from $1,590 / mo: a simple shot uses one, a medium shot three. Files carry nothing of ours, review runs through your team, and we never contact your client.

How it works with a team in the Philippines.
Seven hours ahead of BST, eight ahead of GMT. Plates sent at the end of the UK day are waiting when our compositor starts, and the final hours of our day overlap your morning for notes.
Send the shot
Share the original footage by link, at the best quality you have, with a line on what needs fixing.
We grade it
Simple, medium, or complex, and the price, in writing before any work starts.
AI first, then a compositor
AI drafts the masks, fills, or environments. A compositor finishes, matches grain and light, and checks every frame.
Review, then clean files
Frame-accurate notes on a watermarked render, then clean files in the format and resolution you shot.

VFX FAQ
Common questions.
Are the plates we send personal data?
When they show people who can be identified, yes: cast, crew, members of the public in the background, or anyone named in a lower third. You remain the controller and we process the footage on your instructions. We sign a data processing agreement, with whichever transfer mechanism your counsel uses for suppliers outside the UK, and delete working files after a fixed window once the project closes.
Why is VFX billed in US dollars?
It runs from one published per-shot list for every international client rather than a project quote. Invoices are in USD and paid by Wise or PayPal, and the dollar figure on the list is the figure on the invoice. Paying from a sterling account, the conversion is handled by your bank or payment provider, so only the pound equivalent moves.
What will you turn down?
Feature-film and high-end television packages that require a studio security assessment, full CG creatures, large fire, water, or destruction simulations, stereo work, and any change to a face or voice without written consent from the person on screen. Better to hear that before you send the plates than after.
