The challenge

Before

A logistics company operating 60 vehicles across three regions had no real-time GPS tracking. Fleet position was reported by drivers calling dispatchers every few hours. Unauthorized vehicle use after hours was suspected but unverifiable. Fuel costs were high and unexplained — no route data to compare against fuel consumption. When vehicles broke down or were involved in incidents, the company often didn't know until hours after the fact.

  • No real-time GPS tracking — fleet position updated via driver phone calls
  • Unauthorized after-hours vehicle use suspected but no way to verify or prevent
  • Fuel costs high and unaccounted for — no route data for benchmarking
  • Breakdowns and incidents reported hours after they occurred
  • Driver behavior data nonexistent — speeding, harsh braking undetected
  • No route optimization — drivers chose their own routes with no efficiency baseline
  • Manual driver logs used for billing — frequent discrepancies with client records

The solution

What we built

We built a telematics platform with OBD-II device integration for real-time GPS tracking, geofencing alerts, driver behavior scoring (speeding, harsh braking, idling), route replay, and automated driver logs. Dispatchers see every vehicle on a live map. Geofence violations and after-hours movement trigger instant alerts. The fuel analytics module compares actual consumption against route distance to flag inefficient routes and driving behavior.
